We all want to look fit and lead healthier lifestyles so we can relish life more. The main obstacle for most people is their love handles. These are just small deposits of fat covering either side of the torso that cover the oblique muscles.
A good way to lose love handles is ab exercises. Let’s take a look at a few:
1. My personal favorite, the Side Bend. It’s really easy to do. Simply stand upright with your feet shoulder width apart and your knees slightly bent.
Lean side to side, slowly, by lowering your torso to one side, then the other.
2. The Torso Twist. Stand in the Side Bend position. Now twist from side to side. Remember not to twist with your hips, instead with your oblique muscles.
3. The Side Crunch. This time we are going to lie on the floor. Grab a towel, or if you have one, an exercise mat. Lie on your right side and bring your right arm across your waist and let it waist.
Now touch your ear with your finger tips of the left hand so that your elbows end up pointing directly upwards.
Lift both shoulders off the ground abotu 30cm, contracting your obliques. Repeat this process for a full set then change sides.
4. The Seated Knee Drop. Don’t get up yet! Next, rest on your hipbones with your hands supporting you, if needed. Bend your knees and place both feet flat on the floor with your ankles together.
Now lower both knees to the right. Your feet will try to roll too, but try to keep them on the floor. This comes with practice. Carry on until your knees are about six inches off the floor. Hold tis for a couple of seconds and repeat the process on the other side.
The secret here is control of movement, rather than momentum. Keep at at, though as this is a great exercise to lose the love handles.
These exercises to lose love handles can be carried out daily and I highly recommend you do. You’ll start to see results in no time flat.
